- ➤ On Friday morning a collision involving a dump truck, an 18-wheeler— and a van stalled traffic on I-10 near Washington Blvd for over two hours amid ongoing highway construction, and TxDOT said it would review project start dates to ease future delays. KFDM
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Nederland ISD board will meet Wednesday in a closed session to pick a single superintendent finalist following Dr. Stuart Kieschnick’s announcement that he will retire effective December 19—Texas law requires a 21-day public review period before any final appointment can be made. 12 News Now

- ➤ Airport radar technicians in Beaumont and Lake Charles expect to receive paychecks showing zeros as the federal shutdown continues. One technician said the first missed paycheck is coming Tuesday — workers say they are relying on life savings while Jack Brooks Regional Airport remains fully operational. 12 News Now
- ➤ TxDOT is overhauling the I-10/US 69 corridor between Cardinal Drive and Eastex by adding lanes, relocating ramps, and building elevated connectors—forcing drivers to navigate long delays until the projects finish in 2030.
