CULTURE NEWS

  • The India Association of Southeast Texas will host its annual India Fest on November 15 at the Beaumont Civic Center where a social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and the main program starts at 6:30 p.m.—running until 10 p.m. The festival will feature traditional dance, live music and a cultural bazaar, while childcare is provided at the nearby Children's Museum—tickets cost $40.  12 News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Beaumont announced that a road on Lamar University campus has been closed for water line work starting Wednesday — the closure on Jim Gilligan Way between Cheek Street and Rolfe Christopher Drive will block emergency vehicles until Nov 5. Residents should expect travel delays in the area during this period.  Beaumont Enterprise

HEALTH NEWS

  • H-E-B has recalled its holiday glow stick bracelets because the green unit in the 12-pack can leak and may cause skin irritation. Shoppers who bought the product from September through October can return it for a full refund + this recall, announced on Oct. 30, marks the store's second this month.  Beaumont Enterprise

  • Beaumont Animal Care has a Pitbull named Laila ready for adoption. Laila, brought in as a stray with Floyd on Oct. 14 and likely abandoned after giving birth, is very food motivated and loves petting—she needs a loving home.  Beaumont Enterprise

  • On Friday night, high school football games in Southeast Texas ended with varied scores—West Brook won 37-18 over Galveston Ball while Lufkin beat Beaumont United 31-16 and other teams from Port Arthur, Baytown, Montgomery and more posted their results.  Beaumont Enterprise
  • Beaumont United defeated Lufkin 25–23 on Halloween, with senior night celebrations and a final record of 6–3 that positions them for the playoffs — the game was played last Friday with fans in costume adding to the excitement.  Beaumont Enterprise
  • Orangefield beat East Chambers 56-28 in week 10 of the high school football season on Friday night in Southeast Texas—scores and highlights were tracked on the ScoreStream app. Local fans enjoyed an exciting night as the region’s high school teams finished their matchups.  12 News Now
  • Blake Broussard from Hamshire-Fannett High School ran up the middle and broke several tackles to score the play that earned him the 10 Play of the Week — a recognition spotlighting his skill and boosting hopes for his team's next games.  12 News Now
