  • The Beaumont Masonic Lodge 286 is running food and toy drives to help those in need during the holiday season—junior warden Richard Glenn and drive chairperson Zane Hoffpauir said the drives aim to feed the hungry and bring smiles to children.  FOX 4 Beaumont

  • CJ’s Cookie Counter, Boss Lady Books and Mended Tx announced a new storefront at 2448 Calder Ave in Beaumont that will open after renovations—neighbors received introductory goodie baskets to welcome the venture.  Beaumont Enterprise

CULTURE NEWS

  • On November 2, the 4th Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival took place at Super Antojo Bakery where bakery owner Mario Godoy hosted contests, music by DJ Solis and the Dhanny Azua Band, and performances by folkloric dancers from the Mexican Heritage Society of Port Arthur. Mayor Roy West praised Godoy—emphasizing the event’s role in honoring cultural traditions—while attendees enjoyed face painting, treats, and traditional ofrendas.  Beaumont Enterprise

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bryslyn Johnson, a single mom, enrolled in courses and joined the Single Moms EmpowerED program to pursue her associate’s degree and later a bachelor’s in criminal justice—she works long hours at a law firm while balancing her family needs. The program eases her financial burden by paying half her rent for six months and gives her the support to inspire her daughters to aim higher in school.  Beaumont Enterprise

HEALTH NEWS

  • Billie Loncon from CHRISTUS explained on the noon show that women, especially those middle-aged or older, should get a mammogram to help catch breast cancer early. The American Cancer Society reported that breast cancer makes up about one in three new female cancers — with roughly 316,950 cases and 42,170 deaths expected.  FOX 4 Beaumont

SPORTS NEWS

  • In Beaumont, the Lamar Cardinals opened their season on Monday at Neches Arena with a 93-53 win over Texas A&M-San Antonio—redshirt freshman Jayden Gambrell led the team with 27 points.
