- ➤ A Beaumont nonprofit, Surviving Parents of Southeast Texas, is asking for donations after its food pantry visits doubled due to a SNAP benefit freeze — it serves families on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. and risks running out of supplies if donations do not increase. - ➤ Port Neches-Groves ISD passed the bond proposal to borrow $75 million for school improvements with 53.28% approval—voters cast 1,568 ballots in favor and 1,375 against, and the district said the funds will go to a new transportation center, high school auditorium renovations, HVAC upgrades and roof replacements while keeping taxes unchanged.
