Douglas Memorial CME Church in Beaumont will hold its annual event next week to mark 145 years of faith, fellowship, and community service—Board member Shirlene Cook said the church has long been a positive local fixture.

The Beaumont Heritage Society celebrated the 180th anniversary of the John Jay French House on November 8th—featuring skits by the Big Thicket Outlaws, crafts, a blacksmith demonstration, a historic lecture by Judith Linsley, and home tours that honored early French family history and mid-1800s local life.
