  • Beaumont Professional Firefighters Local 399 is hosting a toy drive to collect new, unwrapped toys for the Some Other Place Giving Tree program. Donations are accepted at every fire station until December 12—collected toys will be delivered on December 13 to help local families celebrate the holidays.  KFDM
  • Bishop David Toups will speak at Blessed Sacrament Church’s 110th anniversary mass on Sunday — marking a historic milestone for the parish.  FOX 4 Beaumont
  • Lamar University’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity held a week-long fundraiser to support Smile Train by hosting campus events like a fitness challenge, taco sale, and 24-hour bike ride—efforts inspired by brother Brendan Sembera’s experience with cleft lip.   • Mon Show, a podcast run by two Southeast Texans, is celebrating two years of supporting Hispanic-owned businesses in Beaumont. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • TxDOT announced lane closures on highways in Jefferson and Orange counties this weekend—causing delays for local drivers. In Beaumont, the left lane on I-10 westbound is closed until 5 p.m. today for road repairs—while the left lane on U.S. 69 northbound is set to close from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday for crash cushion repairs.  Beaumont Enterprise

  • Port Arthur Memorial High School’s Alex Eugene earned the week 12 Hit of the Week on Thursday night during bi-district playoff action—his play stood out in a competitive game.  12 News Now
  • Friday night, high school football playoff games in Southeast Texas saw many local teams advance, including Beaumont United which beat Houston Madison 27+19. Other teams secured wins in tight contests that set the stage for the next rounds.  Beaumont Enterprise
