Beaumont's World Gym at 229 Dowlen Rd celebrated its 30th anniversary last week with local businesses joining festivities—Mr. Olympia competitor Hunter Labrada hosted a meet and greet and said he plans to return to the stage next summer after shoulder surgery.

Former Radio City Rockette Alissa Martin returns to her hometown to lead dance masterclasses at the Keely Jardell School of Dance in Nederland today—she aims to show young dancers that big dreams are achievable and registration is still open for ages 13 and up.
Newton High School is named the week 13 hit of the week today—reflecting its local prominence in education.
Steven Beagle was approved by the Nederland school board as the new superintendent and will start on Dec.
20—replacing retiring Stuart Kieschnick.
🏈 Sports
On Friday, Beaumont United partnered with LongHorn Steakhouse to host a food drive and free pregame meal that raised over 800 pounds of food for more than 700 families—bringing together players, coaches and local parents.
The team, led by first-year coach Drenard Williams, celebrated their first playoff win as they headed to the game against College Station.
On Friday night, high school football playoffs in Southeast Texas saw several local teams advance as Port Arthur Memorial beat A&M Consolidated 44+27 and Beaumont United lost 7+51 to College Station; other games produced additional wins for local schools advancing to the next round.
