- ➤ Today, the Jefferson County Sub Courthouse in downtown Port Arthur hosted a Western Christmas tree lighting with students, families, and officials gathering — while at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, community members enjoyed a Christmas stroll with holiday artwork, treats, and photo opportunities with Santa. - ➤ Beaumont police received nearly 200 bicycles Tuesday from the Carter Family's Friends Bike Event for their Blue Santa program. The program will deliver the bikes on Dec. 10 to help local families have a joyful Christmas. 12 News Now

- ➤ Texas launches a voucher program giving eligible public students up to $30,000 to attend private schools; local schools apply next week while families monitor state resources for February updates (priority goes to students with disabilities and lower incomes) as limited early enrollment is expected. 12 News Now

- ➤ Newton Eagles and West Orange-Stark Mustangs advanced to the State Semi-Finals after Friday night playoff wins - Newton outscored Arp Tigers 66-20 and West Orange-Stark, after a district championship, beat the La Vega Pirates 35-20.
