- ➤ The Haunted Hotel in Beaumont will host its first holiday event, ‘Twas The Fright Before Christmas, on Saturday. The event includes a family-friendly kickoff from 4 to 6 p.m. with crafts, an elf scavenger hunt and sing-along followed by spooky festivities from 7 to 10 p.m. at 447 Orleans St. Beaumont Enterprise

- ➤ A new Lebanese restaurant, Sultan Mediterranean Grill and Lounge, is set to open at 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 3 at 6680 Calder Ave after The Grill closed in November. The eatery will serve authentic Lebanese dishes + specialty beverages to local diners. Beaumont Enterprise

- ➤ Beaumont’s Hispanic community celebrated Las Posadas at Tacos El Primo on Wednesday with food, music, and a reenactment of Mary and Joseph's search for shelter from Dec. 16 to Dec. 24. The event welcomed everyone in a festive display of unity. 12 News Now
- ➤ The Shine Women’s Conference is set to take place at Doggett Ford Park in February with inspirational speakers, prayer sessions and empowering testimonies that build on previous successful events in Beaumont and Wichita Falls. Host Kelly Taubert expects an even larger turnout for this uplifting community event. KFDM

- ➤ At Tuesday's board meeting, Dec. 16, BISD superintendent Dr. Shannon Allen said the board will ask the TEA on Friday to reconsider its planned April takeover triggered by years of failing grades at two schools + the district will keep students, teachers and staff first. FOX 4 Beaumont
- ➤ The Texas Education Agency has opened applications for its new Board of Managers that will govern Beaumont ISD in spring 2026, and community members remain divided on whether local leadership should have more time to improve scores. FOX 4 Beaumont
