Beaumont crews filled a Gladys Avenue sinkhole and reopened the road Friday
The Good Day Beaumont team
If you drive Gladys Avenue, the road is open again. Beaumont crews filled the large sinkhole in the 1000 block, which opened up Thursday afternoon. A crew member estimated it may be about 13 feet deep and said a water line leak under the street caused erosion until the pavement gave way.

Crews blocked that section of the street and worked until late Thursday night, then picked back up Friday. This one comes three months after a pickup truck fell into a sinkhole, and 12NewsNow reports it is raising concerns about aging water lines.
