Girls’ Haven is preparing for its annual Benefit Golf Tournament organized by the Penland Foundation to raise funds for safe housing and educational resources for girls aged 6 to 18 who have experienced hardship.
The event features scheduled activities (lunch 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; practice range 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; tee off 1:00 p.m.) and will support the center’s mission.
Hearsay Beaumont restaurant will open on Monday, May 5th at 11 a.m. at 461 Bowie Street in downtown Beaumont (replacing the old Suga's building) with CEO Joseph Natale previewing the menu.
Beaumont police investigated a reported stabbing at about 12:30 p.m. Monday in an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Sweetgum Lane near 11th Street, and EMS and fire responded as the victim was taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital (the CSI unit gathered evidence).
A man shot Monday night around 5:45 p.m. at Landmark Apartments on French Road died after being taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital, and police released video of a person of interest seen walking nearby— investigators continue their work.

Golden Pass LNG received federal approval Monday to commission key systems at its Sabine Pass export facility — the approval moves the project closer to full operation while it must still meet remaining conditions set by federal agencies.
