Beaumont Mayor Roy West declared June 26 as Babe Zaharias Day at Tuesday’s city council meeting to honor the Olympic track and field gold medalist and golf pioneer who began her career in our city—her legacy continues to inspire local athletes today.

Country music superstar Tracy Byrd will headline the Go 4 The Bell 2025 Gala on Saturday, Sept.

During National Hernia Awareness Month, Dr. Kevin Dean, a general surgeon at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas—St. Elizabeth, became the patient when his fellow doctor Dr. Iumy Torres performed his hernia surgery.
