ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Beaumont will waive permit fees — expedite permits — and remove city liens for investors spending at least $50,000 on homes or $75,000 on businesses under its Empowerment Zone Economic Incentive Program. The program, which now benefits projects like the Gilbert Building downtown, grants tax abatements for three years — up to seven years for larger investments. KFDM

- ➤ Today, Beaumont did not raise water rates as the FY26 budget keeps the senior discount at $11.11 per 1,000 gallons — seniors enrolled in the program need not act.
